Job Title:Distiller – Strait & Narrow
Reports To:Director of Operations – Strait & Narrow

Job Overview

The Distiller – Strait & Narrow, will be responsible for distilling all custom alcohols for our Strait & Narrow Pacific Coast Cocktails.  The Distiller will assist with sourcing raw materials for required distillations and for ensuring Strait & Narrow custom alcohols are produced and delivered to our co-manufacturer(s).  The Distiller will also assist with ensuring our on-premise retail store and tasting room are stocked with Strait & Narrow products. The successful candidate must have a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and efficiency, to ensure our alcohols are produced consistently meeting all quality & recipe specifications.   This is a full-time position based in Delta, BC and will report to the Director of Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Procurement & Logistics manager with sourcing all raw materials for required distillations
  • Execute all aspects of spirits production – distilling, blending, sanitation of equipment
  • Operate distilling equipment in a safe and effective manner
  • Follow SOPs and maintain for all existing products
  • Once SOPs are established, use continuous improvement processes to evaluate and improve cost and quality
  • Help develop new spirits and processes for future S&N products
  • Ensure on-premise retail store and tasting room are stocked for customer sales
  • Keep accurate records detailing both regular production and product development
  • Complete monthly stock inventories and report procurement needs when necessary
  • Assist with equipment maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace
  • Contribute to a positive work environment

Job Requirements

  • Experience within the alcohol manufacturing industry – required
  • Distilling experience – required
  • Well-developed sensory evaluation skills
  • Accurate data entry of MS Excel spreadsheets and ERP system
  • Able to work quickly with attention to detail
  • Able to perform tasks consistently
  • An interest in cocktails & spirits
  • Must be 19 years or older
  • As a key team member of a small but rapidly growing company, it will be critical to have a flexible mindset and willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges

  • Must hold a valid BC Driver’s License (with clean abstract)
