Our brand is inspired and defined by The Pacific Coast and all the adventures that our rugged backyard provides. Job Overview

We are seeking a Consumer Engagement Specialist to join our team. You will support growth plans through social media and consumer engagement including event support and brand partnerships. You must be highly effective at time management and an excellent communicator with strong writing and content creation skills. Most importantly, you must possess the drive to be a part of a team that is passionate, determined, and focused on continuing to build a market-leading premium brand in BC and Alberta. Our ideal candidate would be based in Victoria, but we would consider remote work for the right candidate. The role offers a mix of in-office and work-from-home for Victoria-based candidates.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scheduling the S&N content calendar
    • Work with the Consumer Engagement Manager in creating a monthly content calendar including copywriting captions, assembling & scheduling posts and stories, and additional content creation skills to support the calendar
    • Use of tools such as Sprout, Preview and Google Drive to plan monthly content
  • Responsible for community partnerships:
    • Seek out and develop strong relationships with like-minded brands
    • Find community partners in BC and AB that share a similar brand ethos and community to S&N
    • Conceptualize unique ways to work together including but not limited to events, social media partnerships, brand giveaways, influencer experiences and so on.
  • Responsibility for influencer relationships
    •  Identify influencers and ambassadors that align with our brand and communication strategy, and manage these relationships to achieve maximum exposure of the brand
  • Planning, direction and management of S&N-led events and in-person collaborations 
  • Create and manage Consumer engagement liquid-to-lips programs – mailouts, full can sampling at community partner and lifestyle-relevant locations
  • Ownership of The Strait and Narrow Journals webpage, to document brand activations and influencer/ambassador adventure recaps
  • Support Consumer Engagement Manager with content creation:
    • Create S&N-owned reels following industry trends
    • Event and product photography/videography as required
    • Assemble Instagram stories following the Strait and Narrow Social Media Brand Guide
    • Work collaboratively with the Consumer Engagement Manager and Ambassadors to storyboard and conceptualize innovative social media ideas, promotions and product launches
    • Use of tools such as CapCut/Adobe Premier, Unfold, Lightroom
  • Community in-person engagement and brand partnership and event support
  • Budget Management for all areas of responsibility
  • Social media messaging and responses
  • Influencer mining for mailouts

Qualifications and Skills

  • Copywriting
  • Video and video editing skills for reels creation
  • Basic photography and photo editing skills (use of Lightroom & Photoshop)
  • Content strategy for social media
  • Experience using Preview, Sprout, Linktree or Hootsuite
  • Excellent knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Experience working collaboratively with partners and building brand/influencer relationships
  • Valid driver’s license
